Mayor Lenny Curry calls on City Council to put up $20 million for possible University of Florida graduate education center in Jacksonville.
A legislative fact sheet filed by the mayor's office says the center would have"generational impact expected from the creation of high-paying jobs and developing the health and financial technology education pool which will serve to boost Jacksonville's talent pool."
The $20 million commitment this year would be followed by $15 million from the city in the 2023-24 fiscal year and another $15 million in the 2024-25 fiscal year for a total of $50 million by the city.
