Jack Yates High School Principal Tiffany Guillory was relieved of her duties last week, according to Houston Independent School District officials.
According to a statement from a district representative, the district will not provide additional details because it is a personnel matter. The statement did not say on what date Guillory's employment ended but said she had"been relieved of her duties" sometime late last week. Guillory's departure was confirmed less than a week before students are to be dismissed for winter break.
April Williams will serve as acting principal for Jack Yates High School while the district begins the process of hiring a new, permanent principal. Williams is a school support officer for the district and she will continue her regular duties while taking on the temporary position as interim principal, said Luis Morales, a spokesman for the district.This is a developing story, check back for updates.
