Hendry says people can say what they like but life has been good to him since heading him to Saudi Arabia.
But for the Scotland ace the move to the Middle East hasn’t just been about pocketing Saudi Riyals – it’s been far more about the chance to keep football ROYALS in check. The Al-Ettifaq defender reels off the star-studded list of strikers he’s faced in the last two months without stopping for breath.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time so far and I am playing against some of the best players in the world out there. In the forward line there are real tests every week. Plenty has been said about the money sloshing around the Saudi game and disparaging remarks of the overall standard are never far off. But Hendry said: “Everybody can have their opinions. I’m not going to sit here and say, ‘you can’t say that' or whatever.
“I just got a real good feel about it. It helps with Steven being there as an English manager and coach. He’s brilliant and it ticked a lot of boxes once I talked and thought it all through.”
