J.K. Dobbins is feared to have suffered a torn Achilles in the Baltimore Ravens’ season opener, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Dobbins has been plagued by injuries since his second NFL season. He missed the entire 2021 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game, then played in only seven games last year as he continued to battle knee issues. He missed the start of the Ravens’ training camp this year with an undisclosed injury before being activated off the physically unable to perform list in August.
Dobbins is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, so another season-ending injury would significantly impact his market value as he becomes an NFL free agent for the first time next offseason. Before suffering the injury on Sunday, Dobbins appeared to be healthy, rushing for 22 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and adding two catches for 15 yards.
