Can't have too much of a good thing 👀
Makers of ITV Who Wants to be a Millionaire are reportedly created a replicated version on the show. Judge Rob Rinder is lined up to host the copycat version, called The Imposter. ITV's The Imposter closely resembles BBC's The Traitor hosted by Claudia Winkleman, Birmingham Live reports.
A TV insider said: “The demand for this type of show has grown since The Traitors was broadcast and now other channels want to get in on the act. It comes from the makers of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, who of course know all about hit game shows."A pilot was filmed last month and is now likely to spark a bidding war among broadcasters who are keen to get in on the Traitors type of show. Robert is great as a host. Viewers will see a totally different side to him.
Claudia said: “I can’t wait to go back to the castle to watch people play the greatest game on television. I’m knitting a high funnel sweater immediately.” Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC, says: “Last year’s ambitious and bingeable hit The Traitors with Claudia Winkleman is coming back with the brilliant team at Studio Lambert set to bring viewers another magnificent series full of drama and suspense.
Stephen Lambert, CEO of Studio Lambert, says: “We were delighted so many viewers of BBC One and BBC iPlayer loved the first season. They told us they enjoyed the drama and entertainment of watching our players judge each other, often leaping to false conclusions, but also forming alliances and real friendships. We’re excited to be making a second season with Claudia as together we build on the success of the first.
