The actor auditioned for another character on a different soap before landing the role of Dee-Dee
ITV Coronation Street ’s Dee-Dee Bailey has been embroiled in drama from the get-go. The character, played by Channique Sterling-Brown, first appeared on our screens in 2022 and since then has become a fan favourite. The feisty fictional solicitor has been involved with Callum Lill’s Joel Deering, who has been living a secret life for months after having an affair with troubled teenager Lauren Bolton.
She shared a celebratory post from the event, which the stars ran to raise money for charity. She was joined by Peter Ash, Colson Smith, Calum Lill, Elle Mulvaney, Luca Toolan and others. Channique was born in London but moved to Halifax, West Yorks, as a teenager. She then eventually settled in Manchester in 2018 after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a BA Honours in Acting.
