Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has provided an honest analysis of Amakhosi’s inconsistencies so far this season
He citied silly errors and a negative home record as two of the factors that must be eliminated if Chiefs are to be in serious contention for silverware. I wouldn’t really say it’s difficult times for us. We we ended the year on the right note when we won our game against Golden Arrows [2-0 away on December 31]. I think after that game we relaxed a bit.
As if this was not enough of a party-pooper, Khune and his team-mates suffered a 4-0 humiliation against AmaZulu six days later. Our result against AmaZulu was a difficult pill to swallow. So, going into this week, we told ourselves that as hard it is, we just have to put it behind us and start focusing on our next important home match against Mamelodi Sundowns. We have to go out there and get the result that we want, which is a win at home.
