'It was meant to be uncomfortable': DA leader Steenhuisen defends controversial flag advert
DA leader John Steenhuisen said the party's controversial television advert depicting a burning flag was meant to be uncomfortable and that he is happy people are debating it.
The advert, launched by the party on Sunday, drew criticism from some in the country, who accused the DA of undermining the people of South Africa. In the advert, a South African flag can be seen burning followed by a warning that"life will only get worse" should there be a coalition between the ANC, EFF and the Zuma"faction". South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future. News24 has kept the country informed for 25 years, and we're about to enter a new chapter of fearless journalism.
