Northside ISD says it either has or will address the Cole Elementary boy about the incident.
A third-grader with special needs hitchhiked home from Cole Elementary in Northside ISD earlier this week after a teacher left him outside in a reported attempt to discipline him.Earlier this week, a third-grader with special needs from Bennie L. Cole Elementary hitchhiked home after his teacher left him outside.has been investigating the matter since the day of the incident, said Barry Perez, Northside ISD's executive director of communications.
"The matter is still being investigated, as we want to make sure we know all of the details," Perez said."If the investigation determines that there was inappropriate behavior or behavior outside of the protocol, it will be addressed as a personnel matter. The student will be or has been addressed with permission of the parent, as it was a conscious choice to head home.".
