A leading organization is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems and Application Analyst to join its dynamic team. This pivotal role centers on the meticulous analysis, ongoing maintenance, and strategic optimization of critical business applications and overarching IT systems, ensuring seamless operational efficiency and robust security across the entire organizational landscape.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with diverse stakeholders, encompassing business users from various departments, dedicated IT teams, and external vendors, to guarantee that applications are not only aligned with but also actively support the overarching business objectives in a streamlined and secure manner. The role extends beyond routine maintenance and support; the analyst will also play a crucial role in system implementation initiatives, providing comprehensive user support, facilitating seamless data integration, and proactively contributing to continuous improvement endeavors. Reporting directly to the Systems Manager, the IT Systems and Application Analyst will be an integral part of the Technical Team, fostering strong collaborative relationships with fellow team members and key business stakeholders. This collaborative approach ensures the effective delivery of the team's overarching aims, as well as the successful execution of allocated programs of work and related responsibilities.\Key responsibilities will encompass a broad range of tasks, including the comprehensive analysis, meticulous maintenance, and robust support of a diverse array of enterprise applications. These applications include but are not limited to, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, Human Resources (HR) systems, and other business-critical tools that form the backbone of organizational operations. The analyst will actively engage in collaborative efforts with end-users and key stakeholders, gathering and meticulously documenting detailed system requirements and translating them into clear, actionable functional specifications. A significant aspect of the role involves proactively monitoring application performance, meticulously troubleshooting any emerging issues, and effectively coordinating resolutions with both internal IT teams and external vendors when necessary. They will also be responsible for conducting system upgrades, implementing patch management procedures, and executing configuration changes, all with the objective of minimizing any disruption to ongoing business operations. The role will include assisting in the implementation and seamless rollout of new applications and systems, which will include activities like thorough testing, providing training, and offering comprehensive user support during the transition. Furthermore, the analyst will ensure the integrity of data, including data migration and successful integration of various systems using a combination of APIs, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools, or scripting languages. Providing essential Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for escalated helpdesk issues that are related to enterprise systems and applications forms part of the ongoing responsibilities. This includes the configuration of proper systems access for the group to optimize internal controls, testing internal processes and procedures, and reviewing current systems, interfaces, forms, and related procedures, proposing practical solutions to streamline processes and reduce the need for manual intervention.\The IT Systems and Application Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the Systems Manager, ensuring that internal controls within the group are not only fit for their intended purpose but also rigorously enforced, regularly measured and monitored, and continuously improved where applicable. Collaborating closely with managers across various departments, the analyst will also assist in the design and development of both internal and external management reports, which aim to provide enhanced informational insights to better inform business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational foundation, which includes a degree in a relevant field such as commerce, business, accounting, or information technology. A proven track record of experience with a variety of enterprise applications is essential, alongside demonstrable experience in systems development and the application of these systems in a practical setting. Previous experience working in both project-based and Business-as-Usual (BAU) environments is highly desirable, showcasing adaptability and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Strong analytical and numerical skills are crucial, demonstrating the capacity to identify and proactively respond to emerging issues. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to effectively manage conflict and maintain strong, productive relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. While not mandatory, scripting or programming experience is considered a significant advantage.
