The millennial generation is more diverse than those that came before, and Gen Z even more so. No matter howThe gerontocracy — a government run by old people — has perpetuated a system that works for itself.

We’ve since built a pipeline of more than 93,000 young people who are thinking about running for office: We’ve endorsed more than 1,800; and elected 637 people ages 18-40 to local offices across 48 states. More than half of these leaders are women, more than half are people of color, and about a quarter identify as LGBTQIA+.

Chi Ossé, at 23, is about to be the youngest city council member in New York. Iowan Rachel Junck won a seat on Ames's city council while still in college, and is working to pass a climate action plan for the city.
