Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy has heaped praise Kaizer Chiefs' Yusuf Maart's for his wonder-goal in the Soweto derby, which has now been added as a Goal of the Season contender. Maart's match-winning goal in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates in October has been voted the Goal of the Month by McCarthy and the Manchester United striker coach believes it should be a strong contender for Goal of the Season as well.
"My Goal of the Month for September/ October has to be Yusuf Maart versus Orlando Pirates in the Derby. It is an incredible goal," McCarthy said. "Just the ability that he has, the mindset that he has. He saw the goalkeeper off the line, and inside his own half, he decided to take a shot and try and beat the keeper from there. You don't see these kinds of things happening in South African football.
