Gas prices in the GTA are expected to increase by seven cents at midnight, and could continue to climb through the end of the week, gas expert Roger McKnight said.

Now, McKnight said Canadians should expect to see the price of gas bounce back.“While the price went down 10 cents over the weekend, it's going right back up to where it was.”

McKnight said a short supply of gasoline in the United States meant the cost of gas would rise across North America. He added prices depended on information from the United States’ inventory report on Wednesday.“If they sneeze, we get the flu.” McKnight added Toronto residents should hit the pumps on Tuesday and predicted gas prices could reach over 190 cents per litre in the GTA later in the week.“Batten down the hatches, because this could get kind of ugly.”
