AVON LAKE, Ohio – Congratulations to Stars and Stripes, the bald eagle parents at Redwood Elementary School in Avon Lake. Their first egg of the season arrived at 8:30 p.m. Monday .

Stars and Stripes first started setting up house near the playground in 2015. Since then, they have raised a flock of eaglets – perhaps hoping a little education might rub off on their offspring. Playing host to a pair of returning bald eagles provides learning opportunities for the school’s students, as well as an accessible area for nature enthusiasts – as long as they don’t disrupt class or bother the birds.
