‘It's ... a blast': Cyclists to get new pump track in West Confederation Park yyc cycling

Pump tracks allow riders to use the terrain to propel themselves forward rather than pedalling, sending them flying through the asphalt track’s tight turns. It’s a relatively new sport, one that’s spiked in popularity alongside cycling among kids and adults alike, according to Parks Foundation Calgary officials.said CEO Sheila Taylor, at the pump track in South Glenmore Park on Thursday afternoon.

Taylor announced the new park — the first north of the Bow River — alongside some local government officials, some pro-level bikers and about a dozen kids eager to take their scooters out who were elated by the plans for a new park.
