Lorries carrying food and medical supplies have been entering Gaza via the Rafah crossing from Egypt, but aid agencies warn far more must be done. Meanwhile, Hamas says it won't discuss releasing army hostages until Israeli 'aggression' ends.

Five leading United Nations agencies are calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, warning deaths could soon"skyrocket" due to disease outbreaks and health facilities being on their knees.

The handful of aid trucks finally allowed in today will"provide an urgently needed lifeline" to Gazans"cut off from water, food, medicine, fuel", they added.

Last week also saw a rally and march organised by the Ireland Israel Alliance in support of Israel.Hamas says it won't discuss the fate of Israeli soldiers it is holding captive until Israel ends its"aggression" on Gaza. The 20-lorry convoy marked the first delivery of desperately-needed humanitarian supplies since Israel's total siege on the region 12 days ago.

At today's Premier League match between Liverpool and Everton, Reds fans unfurled a banner reading"For God's sake, save Gaza". The delivery was part of the 20-truck convoy allowed into the region with the Egyptian Red Crescent, the World Health Organisation and the World Food Programme, the charity said.
