Aleksandar Mitrovic was denied a goalscoring return to Newcastle, with his penalty being disallowed during Fulham’s 1-0 defeat.
However, the 28-year-old’s celebrations were cut short when the referee adjudged that his slip had given him an unfair advantage in converting the penalty, resulting in an indirect free-kick for the Magpies. At first glance, the referee allowed the game to continue, however, the decision was then sent to VAR who decided that the Fulham forward had been brought down.
