Pablo Sandoval’s final game for the San Francisco Giants might be Tuesday at Oracle Park, but he doesn’t want his career to end

Former San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy and San Francisco Giants player Pablo Sandoval share a happy exchange before the spring training game between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers at Billy Parker Field at Surprise Stadium on Feb. 25, 2024 in Surprise, Arizona…..Photo by John MedinaOAKLAND – Pablo Sandoval might be playing his final game for the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Tuesday, but he certainly doesn’t want it to be his last game as a professional.

Asked if Sandoval can still contribute at the Triple-A level, Giants manager Bob Melvin said, “I wouldn’t put anything past him, I really wouldn’t.”“It’s going to be whatever they want to do,” Sandoval said of the Giants. “I just want to be able to enjoy it and play well. Whatever they decide, it’s their right. You never know what can happen.

In 11 years with the Giants, from 2008 to 2014, and again from 2017 to 2020, Sandoval hit .285 with a .794 OPS. Of his career 153 home runs and 639 RBIs, 135 and 569, respectively, came with the Giants. Melvin wouldn’t divulge what his plan is for Sandoval on Tuesday, other than to say that he’ll likely play as a designated hitter or in the field.
