What to expect at the Insta-famous exhibition, from pixelated toilets to sheep-counting installations.
Hop on a merry-go-round that takes you through 24 hours in a day, amble through a pixelated toilet, find out what Billie Eilish smells like. If all that tickles your fancy, you're in for a treat at 29Rooms Asia, happening at Gardens by the Bay from Feb 10 to Apr 16.
You may recognise the Insta-famous kaleidoscopic universe of 29Rooms from your IG feed, even before it lands on our sunny shores. The renowned experiential funhouse has made its rounds in the US from Los Angeles to Chicago. Even celebs were caught up in the world of the fantastical multi-sensory installations, with the likes of Lizzo and Emma Roberts curating immersive experiences at earlier editions.
29Rooms Asia — which takes up a sprawling 4,500 sqm at West Lawn at Gardens by the Bay — is the first international edition. As you meander and snap your way through 29 thematic installations that are explosions of colour and creativity, you’ll realise that these aren’t merely fab for endless photo and TikTok opps. There are also thought-provoking questions peppered throughout the way, encouraging you to stop and smell the roses. Or in the case of one of them, stop and smell Billie Eilish’s perfume in a dreamscape created in collaboration with the Grammy winner and her perfume line.
