The documentary really heats up in its third act as it follows Pelosi on the day of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.
To the documentary's credit, it doesn't bill itself as a comprehensive Pelosi tell-all, but rather something that follows"Pelosi at both work and home in real time during consequential political moments in the country’s recent history."
And to that narrow end, the documentary does its job. There are some interesting behind-the-scenes looks at Pelosi facing Iraq War protests at her home during the Bush administration, as well as her holed up with her husband Paul in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. But for the most part, the first 70% of the documentary is pretty boring if you even vaguely remember major political developments from the Bush era onward.
