Winger Jack Clarke could leave Sunderland before the end of the transfer window
Leeds United transfer target Jack Clarke is attracting serious Premier League interest. Top flight newcomers Ipswich Town have tabled an opening offer for the Sunderland winger, as first reported by the Times.
Clarke has been the subject of interest throughout the past 18 months due to his stellar form for Sunderland. Although the winger is happy at the Stadium of Light, the general consensus on Wearside is that he's earned his move to the Premier League. It would be a major blow for Regis Le Bris should they lose their talisman before the transfer deadline closes after fending off interest from various clubs.
Kieran McKenna's side have shown serious ambition since winning promotion back to the top flight and are close to agreeing a deal for Chelsea's Armando Broja, which could be worth around £30m if they retain their place in the Premier League, taking their spend in the current window close to the £100m mark.
Tottenham Hotspur are also set for a financial windfall from any Clarke departure, having inserted a significant sell-on fee as part of his move to the Stadium of Light, previously reported to be 25 per cent.
