Investigators: Sheriff's deputy shoots, wounds man armed with metal bar at Spring Valley home [Breaking]
A county sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a man who was allegedly threatening people with a metal bar inside a home in the Casa de Oro area of Spring Valley and eventually approached the deputy with the weapon Wednesday night, investigators said..
Deputies received a call around 7:20 p.m. reporting that a man was making threats inside a home on Barcelona Street, just north of state Route 94, San Diego police homicide Lt. Jud Campbell said at a news conference. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the shooting as part of a reciprocal agreement to prevent departments from investigating incidents involving their own officers or deputies.
The man suffered injuries that were not considered life threatening. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.The incident remains under investigation. The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office reviews all shootings involving law enforcement to determine whether the officers or deputies involved bear any criminal liability.
