A preliminary hearing will take place at Stirling Sheriff Court on December 19.
A sheriff is to probe the death of a young man who took his own life at Polmont Young Offenders Institution .
The inquiry will look into the circumstances surrounding Jack's death and try to establish if any reasonable precautions could have been taken, or could be implemented in the future, to minimise the risk of future deaths in the jail. Friends and family who spoke with Jack hours before his death said he appeared in good spirits and that the suicide was out of character.
Duncan Anderson, 20, died at the jail three days after arriving from Aberdeen Sheriff Court on August 23. A source told the Daily Record that they understood the death to be a suicide.
