Ambulance strike cover must be sufficient, says health secretary
The leader of the UK's largest health union has accused the government of being "completely intransigent" on pay ahead of strikes in the NHS.
He said it was for the unions to ensure they "meet their obligations" for emergency cover so that people in crisis get the care they need. There are a small number of Tory MPS who say the Government needs to look again at NHS pay. But others are urging ministers to hold firm.
