The Bavarians raced to a four-goal lead ten minutes before the half-time break courtesy of a brace by Leon Goretzka and goals from Sadio Mane and Thomas Muller. Napoli booked their spot in the last 16 with two matches to spare in Group A after drubbing Ajax Amsterdam 4-2 at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
