CLEVELAND, Ohio — Football is a game where the offense, defense, and special teams must complement each other in order to have team success. On Sunday, during the Browns’ embarrassing 28-3 loss to Ravens, they failed to do just that.
For the first time this year, the Cleveland defense had some trouble against an opposing offense. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson led the Ravens with 186 yards passing and 27 more on the ground. Tight end Mark Andrews had five receptions for 80 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Year after year, Andrews continues to be a problem for the Browns, regardless of who is calling the plays for the defense.
With a scoreless game at the 6:59 in the first quarter, Thompson-Robinson made a poor decision and a worse throw that resulted in interception from Ravens cornerback Brandon Stephens. Just as there was no reason to put them in the Super Bowl after their dominant win over the Titans, it is not time to panic after the lopsided loss against the Ravens. The Browns will take the bye week to get Watson healthy and continue the long process of becoming a consistent football team.
