Comedian Romesh Ranganathan, who starts a new role on Saturday mornings on Radio 2, opened up about his childhood and the impact his parents' split and dad's arrest had on him
Romesh Ranganathan has the world at his feet. He hosts The Weakest Link, is a successful comedian and is taking over from Claudia Winkleman on BBC Radio 2 on Saturday, 20 April with a brand-new show in the 10am-1pm slot.
Despite his jovial on-stage persona, Romesh recently revealed a more sombre side of his life to The Guardian, discussing his upbringing and its lasting impact on him. By an unfortunate turn of events, Romesh Ranganathan's peaceful life in Crawley was shattered when his father was incarcerated due to fraud, just a few months after the said devastation. This spiralled into a domino effect for the family, losing their house and having to live in a local BandB for a year and half before securing a council house, where their father would return upon release.
