We'll definitely be popping in before our next flight! 😍
The Bird and Signet is due to open its doors at the end of October. Spreading over 700 square metres, the departure lounge's food and drink joint seats 500 punters and replaces what was Sanderling Bar.
The opening will create 70 new jobs and a further 30 next summer. Colour schemes for the interior are drawn from the Glasgow Corporation buses and subway, while its greenery aims illustrate the city's literal Dear Green Place Gaelic translation.Sign up to Glasgow Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox.
As well as a selection of beers, wines and spirits, the menu will also serve up a haggis cheeseburger with Aberdeen Angus beef, Ayrshire roast ham with fried eggs and Aberdeen Angus lasagne, while Scottish cheddar cheese and traditional Cranachan will feature in the dessert menu. Craig Norton, retail account manager for Glasgow Airport, said: “We are really pleased with how The Bird & Signet Kitchen and Bar is looking and we can’t wait to welcome passengers when it opens in the coming weeks.
