The Pacers roster went on a pre-season trip to the Music City
Almost the entire roster was there, only T.J. McConnell and Daniel Theis missed the experience. McConnell and his wife just welcomed their second child, and Theis didn't get to spend much time with his family during the offseason. The other 16 members of the training camp roster took the trip.and Bruce Brown were the most involved planners of the getaway, and it all came together because of Brown's music taste.
Back in 2018, then-Pacers star Victor Oladipo did something similar and planned a team trip to Miami. Indiana got off to a great start that season and was 25-11 before Oladipo went down with a career-altering quad injury. Still, the Miami experience proved to be valuable.Brown is one of a few new Pacers this season. Of the 16 players that went to Nashville, five of them are new to the blue and gold. That level of participation is a great way to get a head start ahead of training camp.
"Every year, you're not going to have 15 happy players. You're always going to have guys who want more," general manager Chad Buchanan said last week."It's kind of on us as a front office, it's on the coaching staff, it's on the leaders of the locker room to make sure everybody knows the importance of the team."
