The Springboks took on the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup 2023 final on the day Cheslin Kolbe turned 30.birthday in an all-black affair surrounded by loved ones.
Kolbe turned 30 on the final of the World Cup and hasn’t been able to properly celebrate his birthday with his loved ones since returning to the country because of the gruelling country-wide tour last week. The Springboks played against New Zealand’s rugby team, the All Blacks, whom they beat 12 to 11 to retain the Webb Ellis Cup.Hosted at the picturesque Moerat Events in Paarl, Kolbe’s birthday celebration had an all-black dress code and with decorations themed around everything Kolbe. The party was organised by wedding and events planner Areef Moerat.
In 2018 when Kolbe made his debut for the Boks against Australia in Brisbane, he became Springbok No 911 and that number was represented at the birthday party, as well as his back-to-back World Cup wins. While Kolbe celebrated his birthday, Bok forwards Bongi Mbonambi and Retshegofaditswe “Ox” Nché picked up their brand new vans from Mitsubishi dealership on Monday.
