Based in Irving, New Western has been working in San Antonio since about 2009, shortly after it was founded in 2008 amid the depths of the housing crisis. It now has 38 agents in the local market, overseen by two general managers, JD Flores and Marcela Alcalá. Its agents typically sell 40 to 50 homes a month, Flores said.The company operates in 52 real estate markets across the U.S. — having recently expanded into Virginia Beach, Va. — buying a house every 13 minutes, Carlton said.
“We would race into that neighborhood, and within a couple hours, we’d have every house under contract in that area,” Carlton said.
