The award is presented annually to an individual who has volunteered his or her efforts over time to make a difference for Piedmont youth. Arthur Hecht was considered a tireless volunteer dedicated to students in Piedmont and Oakland. The award was established in Hecht’s memory in 1998, and previous recipients include Katie Korotzer, Maude Pervere, Andrea Swenson, June Monach, Sue Smegal and Ken Li.
