In big blow to Gordhan, botched SAA deal referred to SIU
The parliamentary committee that scrutinised the transaction by Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan to sell 51% of SAA to the Takatso consortium has recommended that the Minister of Police consider referring the matter to the Special Investigating Unit for further investigation.
The recommendation is profoundly damaging to the reputation and legacy of Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan, who has prided himself on being a force against corruption. Gordhan will retire from politics after the 29 May election. South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
