'In Bad Taste' - Nando's Distances Itself From Fake Thabo Bester Advert
Humour is a tricky thing, and sometimes what is meant to be funny can become cringy and offensive. Along with most of South Africa, Nando’s obviously don’t find anything funny about the sordid mess that is the Thabo Bester saga.
“Whilst we value the enthusiasm of fans for our brand, we don’t appreciate the production of these fake ads/parody accounts. This is in bad taste and is in no way aligned to our brand or values.”Ja nee , not so funny. The whole Bester thing has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth, so it’s no wonder Nando’s arent amused, even though some Twitter twits saw it fit to question why the brand would diss the advert.“For all the unhinged ads you guys have had in the past this is where you draw the line?”Yes, they have poked fun at a lot of the stupidity that South Africa dishes up daily, but there is nothing funny about Bester and his gang.
