The foreign ministry of Lesotho says it is aware of the issue of illegal miners operating in South Africa - saying there are ways to address the issue.

"As you know Lesotho and South Africa are not only neighbours but they enjoy cordial and friendly relations within a framework that is very clear and structured and that is the Bi-National Commission of Cooperation which we are going to officially launch," said Lesotho Ministry of Foreign Affairs Teboho Mohapi.

Last month, 31 bodies believed to be Lesotho nationals were found at an abandoned mine shaft in Welkom in the Free State.Watch the video above for more details.
