A City Power operation to remove illegal connections in Alexandra, Johannesburg, has turned deadly.
Residents are highly upset about City Power’s operation to remove illegal connections in the informal settlement of River Park in Alexandra. They say City Power’s spokesperson Isaac Mangena promised illegal connections would no longer be removed. eNCA’s Nkosazana Dambuza has the story. City Power claims that it loses up to R2-billion a year to illegal connections and insists they need to be cut.
