Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Boston arrested an undocumented Colombia n immigrant last week who allegedly raped a minor.
Lynn law enforcement had arrested the migrant in January, leading ERO Boston to file an immigration detainer for the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, according to a press release. The department allegedly rejected the request and released the immigrant from state custody. The agency’s policies for ordering court dates have incurred criticism from Republican lawmakers, who have argued the Biden administration has employed “catch and release” strategies and permitted large numbers of illegal migrants into the U.S.
