The Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade has lauded the party for including youth voices in its freshly unveiled election manifesto.
The party launched its vision for an IFP-led government in Durban on Sunday, as the it prepares to contest the general elections in May.The youth brigade says it's confident that the IFP will make good on promises for better governance.
IFP Youth Brigade secretary-general Mlungisi Mabaso says the youth wing spearheaded calls for the mother body to make the unemployment crisis a priority. "We did our own submission as the youth of the IFP and we are happy that our submissions were incorporated to the main manifesto of the organisation.”
With party president Velenkosini Hlabisa having vowed to tackle other challenges raised by the youth, Mabaso believes the party’s manifesto is solid."We hope and believe that the IFP will get an opportunity to be in government so that we can implement all of these commitments that we’ve delivered to the people of South Africa and to the people of Kwazulu-Natal.”
The party wants to ensure that it grows its numbers after the polls to honour their late founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
