A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot a man in the face in New York City Thursday morning as agents were attempting to arrest a suspected illegal immigrant, according to city officials.

ICE agents arrived at a residence in Gravesend, Brooklyn, around 8 a.m. to apprehend a man suspected of re-entering the U.S. illegally, according to the officials. While at the residence, another man became involved in the situation, the officials said.
