It has not taken Ian Poveda long to win the hearts and minds of Sheffield Wednesday supporters. The attacking midfielder has produced a string of eye-catching performances since leaving Leeds United for the Owls late on transfer deadline-day.
Some Wednesdayites have called for the club to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis this summer. His current United deal runs out following the climax of the 2023/24 campaign.Poveda was ineligible to face his parent club in the penultimate fixture before the international break, with the Whites cruising to a comfortable away win after goals from Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto.
