Iain Stirling is beyond excited for the next step his wife and Love Island coworker Laura Whitmore takes as she leaves the iconic presenting role to take up acting 🎭
She has since begun her first West End acting role after joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story alongside the likes of Busted star Matt Willis, with her first show going off without a hitch on September 6.with Laura, says he is ‘really excited’ to see where the TV icon brings her talents next.Iain Stirling has paid tribute to the ‘incredible talent’ of Laura Whitmore as she moves on from Love Island ‘She’s got so many strings to her bow, it’s a really exciting time for her really.
‘He’s young he’s handsome, let’s get him involved, I’d like to see that happen! Can we put that on the front page of the Metro?’Iain is well known for his wisecracking comments as the narrator of the popular series, and admits it began when he first started as he was ‘slightly cynical’ about it all. ‘But also if you’re very cynical and sort of going “What the heck is all this?”, that might be really funny [at first], but if that was every episode for two months for the last seven years it would be like “Why are you still doing this?”
‘When I then make fun of it, knowing how much effort goes into it, it comes across as funny rather than bitter or cynical or anything like that. Or that’s what I hope is the case!’ And another reason, he laughs, is because ‘it would be really hard to write my own Love Island jokes because of all the thousands and thousands of people being funny.’
