Ms Cosmo’s new track with fierce women collaborators Dee Koala, Nelisiwe Sibiya and Sho Madjozi is a banger.

In the latest episode of her podcast series, She Social Podcast, she chats to each singer about their journey through music and what they hope to achieve for women in South Africa.

Sho says she started out just wanting to be a writer, but her career then skyrocketed beyond her wildest dreams.“It was not my plan at all. My vibe was always behind the scenes and writing music for other people – that’s what I wanted to do.”Sho says along the way she started getting amazing opportunities that she embraced with both hands.

“Performing at Global Citizen and Colours was career defining. Performing a track [John Cena] that hadn’t even been released ended up changing my career.” On creating Baningi, Sho says she just wanted to create something “boss” with three other strong women voices. “The thinking behind the track was ‘let’s not come for each other.’ And I love women on trap in general. For me it’s such a vibe. And women voices in general – whether it’s on darts or just rapping. So I wanted to create a song that was something I wanted to hear.”
