I secretly filmed patients suffering from NHS delays – the public must see how bad is ✒️ Daniel Waterhouse

. But I believe we’ve made an important documentary that is essential to our national debate over how we can bolster the NHS, save more lives and stop so much suffering. One of the jobs that gave me the drive to participate in the documentary happened last year. I had a patient with chest pain who called 999. There was a delay in us responding and when we got to him about an hour later it was obvious that he was having a heart attack.

We managed to resuscitate him once, got his heart beating again and waited for an air ambulance to come. Then, unfortunately, he went to cardiac arrest again. By the time we got him into hospital, they called it as soon as he arrived: he was dead.He was a category-two call, so an ambulance should have got to him within 18 minutes, and he was only 10 minutes from hospital.

The faces of patients and staff have been blurred in the footage that will be shown in Undercover Ambulance
