He added that"sadly, the worst part of it all" was when Jo-Marie asked a passer-by for help but was declined -"He decided to rather just drive off instead of offering any assistance." "We were headed to Sea Point from Green Point when a guy came up front, and Jo saw him with a little knife. I didn't even see the knife. And then another guy came up from behind with a golf club, and there was a third one on the side, so they formed like a little triangle."
The 40-year-old says the man with the knife first demanded everything he had, to which Buckner said,"I've got nothing with me. It's not going to be worth it for you."Meanwhile, the man with the golf club had followed Harteveld across the street, who had stopped a driver to ask for help. Buckner saw this happening and decided to cross the road as well, after which the assailant with the knife surrendered and ran away.
