Magnums can be expensive, but are the cheap alternatives worth it?
It’s fair to say we’ve had a pretty miserable and wet summer this year, with July being one of the wettest on record according to the Met Office. And now in typical British fashion, as we wave off the summer of 2023 we’ve been hit by a glorious heatwave, with temperatures rising as high as 29 degrees across Greater Manchester.
These days a box of three Magnums will set you back on average around £3.20, whereas supermarket own brands can be picked up for a fraction of the price. The ice cream in a magnum is Made out of 100% ice cream, which is probably why it tastes so good and not as watery some of its copy cats.Despite its flaws, Asda’s own brand Magnum ice cream was quite possibly my own personal favourite out of the knock offs. The ice cream was smooth, creamy and packed with a bunch of flavour.
