'I bought a £600 storage unit full of old newspapers - they turned out to be worth £75,000'
A STORAGE unit full of old newspapers turned out to be a goldmine because of their historic date.
The unit was bought by Dave Hester on Storage Wars for just £600 but their ultimate value was £75,000.The papers were all bought to commemorate the death of Elvis When Hester opened up the unit and started look at the newspapers he realised they were all from the dayHe said that “obviously someone bought a bunch of newspapers” commemorating the death of the King of Rock n’ Roll on August 16, 1977.
“This could be big,” said adding that “this is something that’s going to add up to hundreds of dollars or thousands of dollars or even tens of thousands of dollars.” In fact when Dave began selling the papers for around £12 each on eBay he was able to make around £75,000.
