$150,000 grant awarded to Sault Ste. Marie Convention and Visitors Bureau; 'It's a great opportunity. I have butterflies in my stomach'
After receiving a US$2.5-million grant last September from the American Rescue Plan to improve the I-500 property in Sault Ste Marie, the Sault Ste Marie Convention and Visitors Bureau received another grant last week.
Before the check was presented, dignitaries visited the track to see what its condition is like when it's not covered in snow. "It's a great opportunity," she continued. "We have all the organizations here in one place. It's exciting. I have butterflies in my stomach. We still have to raise another $350,000 but I know we can do it."
"I am glad I got a little feel of race week," Marvin said. "I know I have to come back for race day itself, but I saw some great opportunities when I was here and I cannot wait to see where all of this goes."
