Husky Energy reports 32-per-cent rise in profit GlobeBusiness

, more than doubling from the previous quarter, and up 10 per cent from the year-ago quarter. Curtailments have been reduced slightly since January and are expected to ease throughout the year.

“The structural transformation of our business over the past several years is paying off. We are now realizing higher per-barrel margins across the company,” Chief Executive Officer Rob Peabody said in a statement. Net income rose to $328 million , in the first quarter ended March 31, from $248 million, a year earlier.
