Kody Nicholas Bohac of Huntsville has pleaded guilty to federal charges for cyberstalking...
A Huntsville man pled guilty to federal charges for cyberstalking 20 women and possessing child pornography on his cell phone,Kody Nicholas Bohac, 25, admitted to stalking approximately 20 women online through social media, demanding nude photographs and posting them online once the women refused to meet him in person,. An investigation into Bohac's phone also found images and videos of child pornography.
“The individual behind this cyberstalking case was well-versed in social media. He not only stalked and terrorized his young victims through social media platforms, but he also victimized them even further by threatening to send compromising content of them to their family and friends,” Special Agent in Charge James Smith said in a statement.
According to the FBI, Bohac would stalk women over social media and demand they meet him in person and refer to him as"daddy." When the women refused, Bohac would post nude photographs of them online, send the photographs to schools, families and friends or create fake online accounts to impersonate the women online and post sexually explicit content.
In one case, Bohac stalked a woman over social media and threatened to post nude images of her online if she did not reply to him. When the woman did not respond, Bohac posted the images online, according to the FBI. In other cases, he offered to pay women for nude photos, but once they complied, Bohac refused to pay them and instead threatened to post their photographs online if they did not send more.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen accepted Bohac's guilty plea and set sentencing for May 8, 2023. Bohac faces a minimum sentence of five years for the child pornography charge that could go up to 20 years, as well as up to five years for the multiple counts of cyberstalking. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
