Hunt pulls in different direction with Rulani on SDs
SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt. SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has sparked the Sporting Director debate, as he inadvertently held a different view to Rulani Mokwena.
The 37-year-old coach, in the aftermath, said in an interview on Radio 2000 that he believes the head coach of a particular club should choose the Sporting Director and not the other way round.The former Orlando Pirates coach also revealed that he has been given that privilege at his current club Wydad Casablanca, where the Sporting Director will be appointed at his recommendation.
"You look at how clubs are run, I think we're going that way, getting Sporting Directors in, where they are keeping the philosophy of the club, that means you've got to get a coach that suits your philosophy," Hunt said on 947's MSW.
